Black History Month

An annual celebration of the achievements of
African Americans.

Originally created as Negro History Week by
Dr. Carter Godwin Woodson in 1926.

Woodson chose the week in February to embrace the birthdays of Frederick Douglass and Abraham Lincoln.  His goal was to educate all people about the contributions of African American women and men on American life.

How do you celebrate Black History Month?

Study The Craft

Solid structure, good dialogue, and  interesting characters are very important for a good story.   Develop your skills.

Take a class, join a writer's group, purchase instructional manuals, and read plenty of good books.

Question Of The Month...

What's the most romantic (or craziest) thing someone has ever said, done or given to you
in the name of love?
Please share your responses in the guestbook.

Don't worry, first names only!
